So if you want to apply a “dubious” tag to anyone here please only apply it to me and not to everyone else here who’s entitled to hold an opinion of Prokofy regardless of context, and you should also not be accusing us of being her “crap opposition” let me explain why.

The “dubious people” you’re referring too are Second Life veterans and ex-mentors with vast knowledge and experience of Prokofy and a number of other ex- and current residents, if you don’t apply that dubious tag to me this is at least in my case is true, and we could put her in a world of hurt based on what we know and who we know, but we don’t because that’s not our intention.

As we don’t know who you are and you claim to know who we are (ignoring the fact you fail to see were veterans) does that not make you the “dubious people emerging from the woodwork” who want to talk about Prokofy? which either makes you someone who’s looking to troll and I don’t speak of this lightly or you’re so far ignorant with what you’re sticking your nose into you’re almost blinded by your own aura of self-righteous confidence that you’re some how better than her “opposition”.

You know nothing and if you do you need to prove otherwise and stop with the general ignorance..

The problem with your statement is A: we’re not her “opposition” we’re as close as she’ll ever have to real SL friends as we don’t shy away from telling her shes going too far or too much in the wrong direction that’s hurting us, the service and herself, and at the end of the day it’s her who’s pushed us away by pecking at issues, and you seem to fail to recognize that some of those on here you accuse of being “dubious people” were long term friends of hers like @crap mariner and others like me were passing attempts at friendship and gave her every chance to grow into it.

We may yell and we may scream at times but at the end of the day we’re seasoned and weathered veterans and she is one of ‘US’ not our “opposition”.. and you’ll find were just as willing to defend her against ignorance in some situations as were willing to defend the service and residents from her own creative ignorance, but we’d much rather prefer everything was quiet and she just gets on with it without causing anyone issues that require speaking out or some yelling.

And B: Her real “opposition” is herself or 4chan and other such wide net groups who see her as long term entertainment aka a lol-cow but that’s something we have no way of stopping and have no control over and wouldn’t want to control her in any case, but the most we can do is blog about serious issues when necessary and this was necessary and came with a point.

So really the word “opposition” should be reserved for trolls, rogues and vagabonds from other websites who engage in trying to wind her up, but how ever much we don’t like what she does at least we know the limits of trying to get through to her even if she don’t believe what we say or our POV against what she does when we’re nothing but genuine towards her, if we get upset that’s us being genuine about an issue we care about not us being lol-cows or trying to wind her up.

I have myself gone too far in arguing about her on Rodvik Lindens mySL wall and on my own but I’m pretty much the exemption to the rule here and the only one here you should apply the “dubious” tags too.

So to recap those of us here might not always get along with each other or with her in general, and some of us might have gone off the deep end (me occasionally) but we’ve no need to lie to you nor about Prokofy’s reputation as the truth is far more creative than what’s been said about her by people who really do make things up, aka what Prokofy does you can’t make up shes a genius at being herself which is one reason why shes so well known as shes fascinating to talk about for some residents.

Anyway one of the worst things you could do right now is interject without a good understanding of the true background of the people you’re dealing with, because you’ll end up looking a fool when everyone else on here pushes back with the truth about who they are and why they talk & blog about Prokofy, the other reason is if you really want dubious I’m not someone you want to be messing with and I don’t mean that in a threatening way because I prefer to sit in my own corner being self entertaining than spend the next 2-3 years drilling my explanation into you until you finally give up and relent with your stupidity.

But I’m willing to do that provided you’re not a troll, and if you don’t know who I’ve been go look up Judge Joker, that’s one mask you shouldn’t be provoking, as well as the good and time valued none “dubious” residents of second life through here.

Jeez is it any wonder this failed crone has lasted so long in the face of such crap opposition.

I have been absent from SL for a year when i was inWorldz instead and im so happy to be back again. I have so much fun! No other grid can compare to SL to be honest. They are nice but very small in comparison and lack of a lot of stuff.

I have begin to breed ABC horses now and has become totally obsessed with that =)) So Im staying until LL closes the grid down it feels like. But I rent from LL, not from private landlors cos i HATE to move. In all worlds

Overall the issues you cite are, for me, more Web2.0 issues generally than specific SL issues. Yes they are issues with LL, but they are typical of UGC on the proprietary platforms of Web2.0

It’s ironic that Web2.0 developers so often use Open Source tools to create their closed platforms. When LL or Facebook or Google or anybody else change their terms, you’re pretty much stuck just accepting what you get or losing everything.

Sure, Facebook has some sort of export function… are you really going to dump X years of comments and “Pokes” and “Likes” into some knarly CSV and hope there’s a way to import it somewhere?

I don’t really have an answer except to note that “we” want it that way. Most people prefer free services to pay, thus making users not the customers, but the product for the real customers, the marketers (this bit is more Facebook, Google, et al, than SL)

I’ve also been looking back on my “woe is us, look what LL did now” blog posts over the last few years, I’ve actually deleted some of them, I’m embarrassed at how negative I was, but overall, the world still ticks and it still is a better alternative for me than InWorldz, Blue Mars, etc

I’m trying to sweat the details less (hard for me) and just be thrilled at what’s possible in this world, which is a lot.

I agree with you about Breitbart – any remarks I have made about him recently are fair game, as they are exactly the type of remark he would have made himself and did on many occasions (as you have pointed out in tweets re: Kennedy). No matter how cutting/nasty people think my remarks have been, they fall far short of the typical Breitbart vileness because I just can’t get that evil.

I have actually felt sorry for the people who continue to be true to the authentic Republican platform & values; I do not believe that the force that is calling itself “The Right” or “Republican” has anything to do with the values & traditions, as you say, of the party of Lincoln. Likewise, many of the “Democrats” seem to be currently conducting themselves as centrist-leaning-rightists.

The men running/pushing/manipulating this country have only one party, and its flag is green and its nation/state is Bank. They wear flags and labels of convenience like grifters, carpetbaggers & con men (the Neo Cons) and are loyal to none of them. They offer monsters & fanatics as cannon fodder so that a mildly-less-insane offering is viewed as sensible. This is the Overton Window technique; continually shifting the frame of the debate towards the desired end of the scale, where “center” becomes “right” and “moderate” becomes “more moderate than Hitler.”

Occupy started a conversation that had been suppressed, although you could hear it spoken in whispers around family dining tables, in bars & across backyard fences for years. The real issues started to be spoken about publicly, eventually forcing some mainstream media to give some coverage.

Now, as Whiskey & you say (and many others are aware), we are witnessing the backlash spin/attack on a previously-unseen, monstrous level. The depths these men (and women; I’m pointing at Coulter for one) will stoop to are revolting, despicable and as fanatic as any mullah or terrorist. It is this that should be the uniting force for people across all party lines & philosophies to reject any “means justify the ends” rhetoric from any & all “parties”.

I am cynical enough to think these men do not even believe in the issues they are pushing; I think they are using them in the most base and ugly demonstration of complete contempt for humanity. This is psychological warfare, using their arsenal of owned media to bury, shout down & destroy any voice of reason, thoughtfulness or real patriotism or belief in this country (and the world). It is to their profit to instill a Darwinian, jungle mentality on the general populace.

It is also the reason they fear the internet so much. They thought that “The Information Revolution” was a soundbyte/label/marketing slogan they could manipulate like they do every other advertising gimmick – they thought it was some kind of new television; one-way push media for consumption – it is only just now dawning on them that the ability of people to talk to each other on such a massive and worldwide scale is the death knell of their psychological control game.
